During the course of purchasing a domain it is a requirement to complete true and correct details of your personal information such as Name, Company Name, Address, Telephone Number, Email Address as the ‘Contact’ details for that domain name.
Unfortunately, this information is public, and can be used to gather your contact information to spam your email address on record, or even phone and fax you for whatever reason.
Due to this abuse, a system is now in place with a number of Domain Registrars who offer a Privacy Protection service. You will have a choice to enable this service, and if you do so, you enable privacy protection for your domain name. Your Contact Details in the Whois information will be replaced with generic contact details that mask your personal contact details.
Promotion Domain offers their customers the option to enable the Privacy Protection service. However, bear in mind that restrictions imposed by the Registry Operator of .US, .IN .EU, .UK extension domains do not permit a Privacy Protection service to be enabled.
